RITAHARJU COMMUNITY CENTRE, OULU, FINLAND
Ritaharju Comprehensive School is located in the Northern Finland, city of Oulu.
The school is part of Ritaharju Community Centre, which means that a kindergarten, a youth centre and a library work together with the school community. There are 1200 students and 150 staff members (teachers, special needs assistants, psychologists) in our school. Our main vision is to provide with inclusive paths of skills for the students, making the paths appear in each subject. These paths are multiliteracy and media education, technology, equality and multiculturalism, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, technology skills and interpersonal skills. In addition, we emphasize multidisciplinary learning, self-assessment and active learning in our pedagogy.
